Dozens of students at Priory Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset have given a Christmas feast to bring cheer to residents of a dementia care home

The Year 11 Hospitality and Catering students had prepared for the care home to visit their school for a Christmas food buffet party, but at the last minute the care home weren’t able to attend due to an Covid19 outbreak.

But not to be thwarted, the students carried on by preparing and cooking a variety of goodies that they then delivered to the care home.

Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “We are very proud of our students for producing such a great spread of food and goodies for the care home.

“This was originally planned as a Christmas buffet where the guests would enjoy some hospitality, music and drama to celebrate Christmas but the students were intent on making as best a day for them as they could.”

The popular academy is part of the high-achieving The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT).
