Little Hero pupils of Castle Batch Primary School Academy (CBPSA) in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset have been showing acts of kindness.

Their terrific attitudes and hard work have been rewarded by a voucher for disc golf at Mendip Outdoor Pursuits as part of the school’s Little Heroes awards.

The awards are across The Priory Learning Trust and occur at the end of each term.

Teacher Mrs Bestwick said: ”It started at St Anne’s Church Academy and we thought it would be a good idea to bring it to our school to celebrate children that have gone above and beyond.”

Little Heroes

Craig, a student who was nominated for Little Heroes, told us that “I felt a bit confused as I did not know what this award was but I felt overall happy.”

Mrs Taylor, the Principal of Castle Batch, said: “Little Heroes was a brilliant idea as it is not like all the other awards we have like learning champions and hot chocolate Friday.”

Overall each term different pupils will get nominated for this special award to show that they have put in amazing effort and kindness towards other people in their community.

Ofsted Clean Sweep

CBPSA was recently awarded a clean sweep of Good ratings by Ofsted.

It is part of The Priory Learning Trust.

The school impressed inspectors for its quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and its early years provision.

Jill Dando News was formed out of memory to former BBC TV presenter Jill who lived nearby. It covers positive good news across the UK and the world, all in the style of Jill, kind, positive and brilliant.

Their stories are published on the online UK and world newspaper
