Inspirational students scoop top regional awards for their West End style productions.

Clevedon School in Somerset were nominated for five Awards in the Somerset Fellowship of Drama David Beach competition for their Calamity Jane production.

They were the only school represented in the nominations alongside well established amateur dramatic societies from the South West.

Clevedon received five nominations for Best Set, Best Musical Direction, Best Chorus, Best Leading Female (Hannah Filer for Calamity Jane) and for the third year running, Best Youth Musical.

Debbie Morgan, Head of Dance and Drama, said, “We pride ourselves on the community feel of the show.

“Students, staff, ex-students, parents and parents of ex-students are all essential to the creation of our fantastic productions.

“These awards were due largely to the input of Anthony and James Ruffle (ex-student and father) and their West End worthy moving , full sized stage coach!”

Clevedon School is excited to announce Grease as their production for 2019.
