Children as young as 9 in memory of TV legend Jill Dando are partnering with a leading British business media company in a unique world first.

Jill Dando News reporters are joining with Business Leader and the Good News Post newspaper in a unique interviewing project.

Mia, 14, of Priory Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset kicked off the partnership with a question about time travel, to Jonathan Dunn, CEO of BCMS.

Business Leader with 100,000 subscribers across the nation and a print edition are interviewing top high-flying business people each week including SAS: Who Dares Wins star Ollie Ollerton and Dragons Theo Paphitis and Steven Bartlett.

Now in a slot called the ‘Good News Postcard’ students aged 8 to 18 in Jill Dando News in The Priory Learning Trust schools are asking a range of questions as part of the interview.

They have previously interviewed Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Downing Street in front of millions of global TV viewers, TV’s Fiona Bruce, a NASA astronaut and more after being trained for 6 years by professional journalists and Jill’s brother Nigel Dando with 48 years’ experience.

Business Leader has become in itself a national success story, and the Good News Post online newspaper, which Jill Dando News helped to start in 2017, has expanded locally to become a national and world online newspaper.

There are good news reporters across The Priory Learning Trust at Worle Community School Academy, Priory Community School Academy, The King Alfred School Academy, St Anne’s Church Academy, Castle Batch School Academy, Pawlett Primary School Academy, West Huntspill Community Primary and East Huntspill Community Primary.

Ascot Group, which owns Business Leader out of its base near Worle Train Station, is one of Britain’s best firms.

It has plans to become one of the world’s prime recruitment and training places and is planning a new £10 million super centre in the area.

It has grown from 0 to 100 staff in nine years and is planning further expansion.

Jill Dando News was set up in honour of Jill, the former Worle Community School Academy student who went on to become the very best of TV journalism for the BBC, yet remained kind and humble.

The reporters learn incredible media skills, and build their self-esteem during their work.
