A 12 year old boy gets our King’s reply! (By Jill Dando News reporters aged 9 and 10)

It’s not every day a 12 year old gets a reply from the King of England.

But the enthusiastic Oliver was eager to tell the new Monarch all about Jill Dando News and the good news stories hundreds of children have been writing over many years.

Oliver of Worle Community School Academy in Worle, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset unexpectedly received a reply from King Charles III.

Nobody knew about the letter Oliver wrote – he did it off his own back.

Our Jill Dando News reporters found out about Oliver and his letter and reply and wrote it in the presence of our own King Charles – the Jill Dando News’ mascot Jeffrey, the King Charles Spaniel.

The reply from the King said: ”It was so very kind of you to send me such a wonderfully generous message following the death of my beloved mother”. 

“Your most thoughtful words are enormously comforting, and I cannot tell you how deeply they are appreciated at this time of immense sorrow.”

Oliver now wants the King to come to his school where Jill attended to talk about Jill Dando News and the reporters who write for the Good News Post goodnewspost.co.uk

Jill Dando News started in 2017. It has now spread to 10 schools including one in Malawi, Africa.

They have even interviewed the Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Downing Street. The reporters are eager to share positive good news with the schools, community and the world via their newspaper www.goodnewspost.co.uk and the wider Media and Social Media.
