The MPS Society have launched an Ecoracing Easter Balloon Race.

The Ecoracing Virtual Easter Race starts in Istanbul at 12pm on 4th April 2021 and will last for 7 days.

Organiser Becky Beeson said: “Lockdown has been difficult for our families and supporters so we thought we’d have some fun by taking part in our first ever Virtual Balloon Race just in time for Easter.

“We are very excited about this. Thank you to everyone who helps.”

The MPS Society, which provides brilliant support to families affected by rare genetic conditions, is backed by The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT).

Balloons cost £3 each to anyone wanting to help. Sponsors can see their balloon on a virtual dashboard.

There are some amazing prizes including a first prize of £500, a second prize of an apple iPad and more.

Becky added: “Thank you so much for taking part and we can’t wait to see your Easter balloons fly for the MPS Society.”

The MPS Society provides support for children and families affected by MPS, Fabry and related rare genetic conditions.

Mucopolysaccharide (MPS) diseases are a family of rare, life limiting lysosomal storage disorders that can affect both children and adults. Mucopolysaccharides are long chains of sugar molecules used in the building of bones, cartilage, skin, tendons and many other tissues in the body.

There is no cure for the diseases the charity supports but with each new advancement in treatment, they help to ensure that lives are lived to the fullest.
