The King Alfred Sixth Form Academy students in Highbridge, Somerset hosted a powerful Question Time event featuring a wide spectrum of politicians and views.

The panel featured Dr Liz Payne, from the Communist Party of Great Britain, Joe Maggs from the Labour Party, Emma Gliddon from the Climate Change campaign group, Extinction Rebellion, and Tessa Munt, a Liberal Democrat Politician who served as the MP for Wells from 2010 until 2015.

Mark Shelford, Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset, and former UKIP MEP Ernie Warrender made up the panel.

The whole event was brilliantly chaired by Sixth Form student Jack Millier.

Topics ranged from poverty, climate change, the future of democracy, and the right to protest.

Head of the Sixth Form Jonathan Gaskell said: “We are super proud of all our students for organising and hosting a Question Time event that was up there with the very best.”
