Beautiful blue skies as pupils thrive at Forest School

Pupils at St Anne’s Church Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset basked in the welcome in their latest Forest School.

The school is passionate about doing outside learning and the pupils look forward to it with relish..

Principal Emma Hardy-Smith said: “The children absolutely love learning outside. They can develop new skills like fire lighting and orienteering whilst developing resilience, problem solving and team working skills.

“They wrapped up warm and created some art using natural items from the woodland.”

The pupils have also been planting extra trees around their lovely site.

The extra trees will mean that the school can even further develop their outstanding nature and wildlife areas and also boost the environment.

St Anne’s Church Academy is a high achieving and happy caring school and recently achieved a clean sweep of Good Ratings by Ofsted.

It has its own Jill Dando News centre with a former pupil interviewing the Prime Minister twice in two months.

It was the first school in North Somerset to receive the highly prized Social School Award.

It is part of The Priory Learning Trust.
