Brilliant students celebrate winning awards at glittering ceremony

Brilliant students have celebrated winning awards at a glittering ceremony.

Students from Priory Community School Academy weston-super-Mare, Somerset, were praised for their successes during a marvellous night of celebrations at the Winter Gardens in the town.

The Academy gave awards for excellence and hard work in areas including sport, maths, English, science, languages community and attendance.

There were also special prizes given for outstanding character and attitude, as well in work experience and journalism.

The special guest speakers were former student Clayton Kingman, now a racing driver and innovator, and Junior Saunders, a motivational speaker.

Amy Hughes won the Jill Dando News Centre Journalist of the Year Award.

Principal, Angelos Markoutsas said: “We are so proud of every single one of our amazing award winners.

“They are all absolute heroes. It was a terrific night of celebration.”
