Awesome Dawson, 12, quizzes PM twice in two months

Inspirational Dawson, 12, is helping to recruit new student journalists after remarkably interviewing the Prime Minister twice in two months.

Dawson Panter-Wray, 12, of The King Alfred School Academy was part of the first ever Children’s Lobby in Britain to interview Boris Johnson in Downing Street.

Weeks earlier, Dawson also interviewed Boris at the school as part of the Jill Dando News Centre.

It is the sort of exciting opportunities available for students of TKASA and The Priory Learning Trust.

Dawson’s once-in-a-lifetime interview included a tour of Number 10, the Cabinet room, meeting Larry the Downing Street Cat, and having photographs on the famous doorstep.

His question to Boris was seen by tens of millions of viewers around the world as he cleverly asked him if he was still planning to cycle now he was the Prime Minister.

Dawson is now back at school and helping to recruit more Jill Dando reporters among the students.

Dawson, pictured with 10 year old Elijah Maxwell outside Number 10, said: “We were so lucky. We got to speak to a variety of political news correspondents from multiple news networks, and even met the government’s Chief Mouser, Larry the cat.

“It all helped to improve our journalism knowledge and skills. This is just one of the benefits the Jill Dando journalists have been able to receive from our school and TPLT over the past year.”

TKASA is one of the fastest improving schools in the south-west after an amazing 18 months.

The JDNC students were featured on TV outlets including BBC, ITV, sky News and Channel 4.
