Mayor Cllr Russe, said: “I’d like to thank everyone at the FUCHSIA group for inviting myself, the Deputy Mayor and the Deputy Mayoress to their Macmillan coffee morning

“It was a pleasure to speak with all their members, and I look forward to visiting again soon.”

The group FUCHSIA meets just a stone’s throw from Jill Dando’s childhood home in Worle, and school, Worle Community School Academy, where students write positive stories in her memory.

FUCHSIA, which stands for Friendship, Understanding, Cancer Help and Support in Abundance, have been running since 2010 and meet every Thursday, 10 am – 12 noon at the NightJar, who kindly provide a room for no charge.

The group continued throughout the Covid lockdowns, with group lead, Julie Crowther, phoning the members almost every week to keep in touch.
