Students present Foodbank with donations from their Christmas Reverse Advent charity events.

Students have presented Foodbank with donations from their Christmas Reverse Advent charity events.

Students at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, Somerset have been performing Christmas carols and songs via on YouTube as part of the charity spectacular.

The brilliant musical performances are part of the academy’s "Reverse Advent" and "12 Days of Christmas" campaigns.

The aim is encourage donations for the fantastic Foodbank charity across Sedgemoor throughout the festive season.

This week they presented Foodbank with more of the donations.

Sasha, 14, and Charlotte, 14, said: “The past months have been hard on us all, but especially for those in our community who may have been hit hardest with the financial impact of COVID-19.

“It is important we support the members of our community who may need our help and support the most; the Reverse Advent Calendar is an amazing way to do this

“Keep giving, stay generous and loving. Thank you to all the students and staff who took part and helped in spreading a little Christmas cheer.”

Principal Dan Milford said: "Our students have been phenomenal in getting this project off the ground.”
