Pupils at Pawlett Primary School Academy in Somerset are thriving in their reading.
In classes across the school, ‘superstar readers’, who read three or more times at home in a week are celebrated.
Books include Gulliver’s Travels and The Lost World.
The school is part of The Priory Learning Trust which introduced its Reading Programme to further encourage a love for reading for its 4 to 18 year olds.
The Pawlett school site is in one of Britain’s most picturesque settings near the Mendip Hills one inhabited by King Alfred the Great.

Last year pupils and staff unveiled their stunning new Learning Lodge with hexagonal features and sensory plants – opening up even more opportunities for outside learning.
Their new Learning Lodge supports all subjects including maths, English, religious education, computing, Science and more.
The school, which has a history in the village over 150 years ago, is situated in incredibly stunning grounds with sports pitches, a forest school, adventure playground, and next door to a state-of-the-art community club with a 3G football pitch.
It has its own Jill Dando News Centre for pupils.
