An academy has introduced a new school nurse during Mental Health Awareness Week.
Priory Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset is helping students with their health and mental health by introducing a new school nurse.
Every Monday the new school nurse will be available to help with a whole host of vital issues affecting youth: mental health issues, emotional heath, well-being, bullying, smoking, alcohol and substance misuse, relationships, and sexual health.
They will also be able to offer information about other services and referrals to other agencies.
This new development is excellently timed with School Nurse Day which is celebrated in the USA and across the world this month.
Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “This drop in service will be an excellent further provision to support students with their health and mental health.”
