Pupils, their families and staff are being welcomed by a staggeringly brilliant jungle mural full of tigers, monkeys and other animals.

One of Britain’s best artists Martin D’arcy completed the mural at Ashcombe Primary School, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset during the pandemic.

It stretches throughout reception, to the headteacher’s office, and into the main building.

Every Monday morning a different animal would appear for children to enjoy.

The animals were chosen by a different teacher.

Flynn, 10, said: ”Every animal brightens a child’s day.”

Jill Dando News reporters covered this story. They find good news to cheer people up from across their school, community and world.

The first Jill Dando News Centre was started in Christmas 2016 by Worle Community School Academy students, in memory of their murdered ex student Jill Dando. Jill’s older brother Nigel helps to train and inspire children reporters.
