Local media, marketing and technology company raises £3,200 for local disability charity

A team of staff from local media, marketing and technology company scaled the UK’s three peaks in a bid to raise money for its regional charity partner, Gympanzees.

The event, which took place on Saturday 10 June, saw the team climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within just 24 hours to support the fantastic efforts of the charity which is designed to provide young people and children with disabilities to access fun and fitness.

The adventurous group took on the formidable Three Peaks challenge specifically to support the Gympanzees ‘Project Home’ appeal. Introduced earlier this year, this initiative was created to help raise funds to develop a permanent centre so 66,000 young people and children can receive regular exercise and sensory integration opportunities.

Despite battling with injuries and soaring temperatures, the team successfully completed the difficult trek which saw them hike the distance of a marathon and ascend over 3,000 metres in the allotted time – and through their fantastic efforts the Ascot Group were able to raise over £3,200 in total.

Andrew Scott, founder and CEO of Ascot Group, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the Ascot Group for all their hard work in raising money for Gympanzees this past weekend.

“Knowing their fundraising efforts will help equip Gympanzees’ busy 12-month programme is fantastic. I’m incredibly passionate about the South West region so having the opportunity to support Gympanzees as our regional charity partner makes me immensely proud.”

Fran Garland, Chief Operations Officer at Gympanzees, comments: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at the Ascot Group for their support with our Three Peaks challenge. Their brilliant fundraising total will go a long way for the disabled children, young people and families we support.”
