Inspirational school one of best in the country

Wonderful pupils celebrate as their amazing school now one of top in the nation.

Ashcombe Primary School were one of the schools listed in the Real Schools Guide 2020 of the best schools around.
It follows from last year when they were in the top 5% bracket for combined reading, writing and maths results, compared with similar schools nationally.
It is made all the more remarkable by the fact that the school with 630 pupils is one of the biggest in the south-west.
The overall figures for the SATs were in the top 20% of similar schools nationally, and have increased for the fourth year running.
The school have rolled out a new programme of bringing learning to life by helping the homeless and by making rounded children ready to take on the world.

They are also installing a Jill Dando News Centre, trained by the Good News Post.

Headteacher John Clark, left of the picture, said: “We are absolutely delighted at this news.”
