Incredible 10 EV charging points installed at ambitious firm as it prepares for massive 200 jobs boost

By Climate Correspondent

A Weston-super-Mare firm has installed 10 electric vehicle (EV) charging points at its offices in Worle – the most of any medium-sized company in Somerset.

It is part of its commitment to a sustainable future and become one of the south-west‘s most futuristic Eco companies.

The Ascot Group is a marketing, media and technology group located next to Worle train station.

It has installed the charging network to encourage employees and customers to reduce Co2 emissions and switch to electric and hybrid vehicles.

It is also part of their initiative as part of a wider £1.5 million investment by the Ascot Group https://www.ascotgroup.co.uk to create a world-class marketing, media and technology business in Worle and create 200 local jobs.

The major investment creates one of the biggest EV charging centres in the region and follows the company’s decision to switch to electric and hybrid vehicle earlier this year, when the firm replaced existing diesel cars with a fleet of vehicles with electric powertrains.

Ascot Group Chief Executive Andrew Scott said: “A commitment to a low carbon future requires real action today.

“Our investment in 10 high-speed EV charging points is part of several initiatives by the Ascot Group and provides employees and visitors with free electric charging and car-parking next to Worle train station.”
