Big hearted pupils have donated 100 pairs of shoes and uniform to children in Africa.
The students at East Huntspill Primary Academy, West Huntspill Primary Academy and Pawlett Primary School Academy near Burnham on Sea and Bridgwater in Somerset, have collected them over the term.
The Kenyan girls at Jolaurabi School are now wearing the shoes and uniforms.
The three Somerset schools are all part of The Priory Learning Trust.
A spokesperson for the schools said: “We encourage our children to bring in their old school shoes on the last day of Term 6 to recycle and reuse again in Kenya.”
The school in Kenya is linked to the charity Educate the Kids and the Singing Choir of Africa. https://www.educatethekids.com/what-we-do/
The choir previously visited all of the schools and spent the day with them when they were on their tour of the UK back in 2016 and 2018.
The charity’s vision is to see the Children in Africa have their needs met, their rights upheld and their dream
