Big hearted students break charity record

A record-breaking class of 11 and 12 year olds have been praised for their incredible generosity.

Some 30 Year 7 students at Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset raised £100 for mental health charity, In Charley’s Memory.

They were asked by tutor Tina Burrows to raise as much as they can and ended up bringing £100 back.

Tina said: “I was stunned at what they had done. It was a brilliant amount to raise. They are just the best group of students anyone could ever wish for. They are generous, caring and thoughtful.”

WCSA is the home of the Jill Dando News Centre, and the school is a high-achieving and caring academy.

In Charley’s Memory is the chosen charity of The Priory Learning Trust and helps hundreds of 11 to 25 year olds with their mental health. http://www.incharleysmemory.co.uk
