An award-winning multi academy trust has achieved the highest UK commendation available to school business professionals.

The Somerset-based The Priory Learning Trust was presented with the SchoolMark for its excellent management to support better outcomes for its 5000 students.

SchoolMark is the accreditation for effective resource management across the Trust.

It was developed in consultation with the Department for Education and awarded by the Institute of School Business Leadership.

It is an official stamp of their brilliant work over many years with glowing work across the 9 areas of scrutiny tested.

Mark Antoine (COO) and Helen Burge (DCOO) of TPLT, said they are delighted at the SchoolMark accreditation.

Mark said: “In many ways, as a peer review, it confirmed what we always knew – that we have robust finance and governance. Now it is official.”

TPLT is a multi-academy trust with 8 schools and over 5,000 students aged 3 to 18.

TPLT’s values of ‘Students First – Cherishing Staff – Serving Communities’ have led them to push for best practice.

Helen said: “We are delighted to received the SchoolMark. The advice offered as part of the process was also a huge bonus so that we can continue to improve, no matter the grade.”

Helen added: We want to embrace best practice to improve the outcomes for our pupils. That’s ultimately why we’re in education – to make a difference.”

SchoolMark is a quality assurance scheme that was developed with the DfE and is awarded by the ISBL.
