Worle Community School Academy has been named one of the top performing Hegarty Maths schools in the country, ranking in the top 10% for the amount of videos watched by their students.

The official title of ‘Hegarty Maths Super School’ was awarded after a fantastic year of Hegarty Maths usage at Worle; particularly during the recent remote learning.

Overall in this academic year our wonderful students have answered over 670000 questions and completed over 18000 hours of additional learning.

Hegarty maths is an educational platform which is used in schools to help students learn all the different maths skills they need for their GCSE qualifications.

It is the second accolade in recent months that the high performing Academy has achieved. They became the only state school in Britain to win a prestigious ‘maths in miniature’ video competition combining maths with sports. They also have one student who is already receiving university standard tuition, even though he is in Year 9.

During the school closures, students have relied on Hegarty Maths more than ever to help them with their distance-learning maths lessons.

Sean Wood, Head of Maths, said “The students have excelled themselves in maths throughout the year and the statistics speak for themselves.”

“Hegarty Maths is a one-stop shop for excellent help videos and the quizzes allow students to immediately test their understanding.”

“Our students thoroughly deserve this award and we are delighted that so many students are enjoying their maths.”

WCSA is a brilliant Academy which aims for happy, ambitious and aspirational students.
