Inspirational founding school headteacher Arthur, 101, back to present his book on World War 2

A 101 year old founding headteacher of a secondary school was back to present his book on World War 2 to their library
Arthur Spencer went back to Priory Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset where he started as their first Headteacher in 1975.
The former World War Two bomber navigator on the famous Lancaster Bombers presented his book ‘An Interesting War’ to their school library.
He wrote it as a pamphlet around 20 years ago and his elder granddaughter has had several printed as a book.
Five years ago, their £2.5 million state-of-the-art Spencer Science Centre - which is one of Britain's best science facilities for students was named after him.
At PCSA this, Arthur presented the book to CEO of The Priory Learning Trust, Nathan Jenkins.
Mr Jenkins said: “It was a delight to meet Arthur and to receive his book on Worle War 2. It will be a treasured part of our PCSA library.”
While Headteacher, young reporter Jill Dando would visit him to find out all the latest school news. She rose to become Britain’s best TV journalist. Jill Dando News has been formed in her memory at PCSA and many other schools in Somerset.
