X Factor star helps amazing students to win gold and silver awards at dancing festival.

The amazing West-End quality students of Clevedon School won Gold with North Somerset Festival of Dance achieving the Secondary School Group Cup for the first time.

The dancers were using the piece they learned with world famous choreographer Lukas McFarlane last year.

Lukas won the popular television competition “Got to Dance” in 2013 and since has gone on to choreograph at an international level creating work for well-known companies UNIQLO and GAP.

Students also won Silver in the same category with a piece choreographed by Year 12 students Jade Rockett and Taylor Nicholson while Year 7 student Tizianna Goss won the rare accolade of Rising Star award.

Head of Dance and Drama Deb Morgan said: “This was the first time we have won Gold in three years and are delighted. The piece was memorable and the students were outstanding.”

Year 12 Taylor Nicholson said: “It has been an honour to dance Lukas’ choreography and we look forward to working with him again this coming September.”

Clevedon School is part of the Clevedon Learning Trust and produces West End-quality productions which have won a host of awards and accolades.
