‘Would you like a jelly baby?’ Doctor Who Fans Celebrate Tom Baker’s 90th Birthday (By Oliver, 13)

Born on 20th January 1934, Tom Baker is a British Television Icon and played the fourth incarnation of Doctor Who.

Born on Scotland Road in Liverpool, he undertook his national service in the Royal Navy Army Corps. In 1956, he began his career in acting at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and became a professional in the 60s.

Since then, he has played the legendary fourth doctor, exploring everything from Jelly Babies to the creation of the Daleks.

His voice was voted the 4th most famous in 2006, and was described as sonorous. He has even released a doctor who novel titled scratchman!
