This was my first visit to Almondsbury Creative. A sports and social club with good car park and a hall for events such as this one.

A place with a nice atmosphere and reasonably priced food and drink. It is a small venue, and this is a concert attended by about 50 people.

The opening act Amy Moore deserves some comment. She is an English country singer who much to her credit writes and performs her own songs.

She writes good songs and is a good performer with a good voice. She shows real promise for the future with an entertaining half hour set.

Willow Hill are a husband and wife (C.T and Alexandra Fields) duo from the country music capitol of the world who have done some 200 plus concerts in the last 12 months.

The Rolling Stone say they are a country act to watch and compared Alexandra to the Lady Gaga of country music C.T. to Kenny Chesney, high praise indeed.

They were personable and engaging and performed some covers of songs made famous by Fleetwood Mac, Tina Turner, and the Cranberries amongst others in amongst many of their self well written songs.

These included a loving tribute to Alexandra’s father ‘Brick & Mortar Man’. Another about their first meeting some 11 years ago ‘You Ain’t From Around Here’. Their best song from their newest EP for me is ‘Whiskey or Wine’, which is very good and if there is any justice, should be a hit. Great song.

This was a small intimate show which entertained the small audience and would have entertained a larger audience.
