WeDonate and Give Blood 4 Good Announce Partnership to Empower and Celebrate Regular Blood Donors
By Jill Dando News
WeDonate and Give Blood 4 Good (GB4G) have joined forces in a powerful partnership, which aims to encourage more people to donate blood regularly across the UK.
Together, they seek to reinforce the importance of blood donation by recognising and celebrating the extraordinary impact people have every time they give blood, empowering those who are able to donate as often as possible.
At the heart of this partnership is a shared mission: to ensure that everyone who needs a blood transfusion can receive one. With blood stocks often experiencing periodic shortages—seen earlier this year following the NHS cyber-attack in London—and the number of people who donate blood regularly declining, it is essential that these trends are reversed, which WeDonate and GB4G are determined to do.
By combining their expertise, resources, and outreach efforts, the collaboration aims to increase the number of regular blood donors across the country, with the ultimate goal of making regular donation part of people’s lives.
The WeDonate-GB4G partnership is underpinned by three core objectives:
- Encourage More People to Become Blood Donors: By uniting WeDonate and GB4G’s networks, the partnership aims to inspire individuals and groups—from companies and schools, to sports clubs and community organisations—to give blood. Through GB4G’s educational initiatives, including their Young Ambassador Programme and #BloodyBrilliant Uni Squads, GB4G will continue their efforts to improve awareness and education surrounding blood donation among young people, with WeDonate providing essential funding so that GB4G can sustain and grow their programmes.
- Celebrate the Incredible Impact of Blood Donors: Each blood donation can save or improve up to three lives, and we believe that blood donors deserve recognition not only at the time of their donation, but all year round. Using WeDonate’s reward platform, regular donors can access exclusive discounts from beloved brands between appointments, helping them feel valued and connected to a supportive community that recognises their life-saving act of kindness.
- Empower People to Donate Regularly: Recognising the incredible commitment of blood donors is a cornerstone of this partnership. By publicly celebrating donors’ experiences, sharing their stories, and highlighting the critical importance of regular donations, we hope that this will inspire others to follow suit.
Together, WeDonate and GB4G envision creating a powerful community of regular donors who feel supported and celebrated at every stage of their donation journey.
By recognising donors between appointments, this partnership aims to build a long-lasting culture where people feel inspired and empowered to give blood as often as possible, ultimately supporting the NHS in maintaining a steady, reliable blood supply, to ensure that everyone who needs a blood transfusion can receive one.

About Give Blood 4 Good
Give Blood 4 Good (GB4G), founded in memory of Patrick Smith, is on a mission to get as many people to donate blood as possible. Donating blood is a safe, simple and rewarding way for people to give back to society, often helping people at a critical point in their lives. Through working with organisations, schools and universities across the country, they’re aiming to improve education and increase participation in blood donation among young adults, and empower people to continue to give blood until they’re no longer able. To achieve this, GB4G is breaking down the misconceptions to remove the fear and mystique that can often be associated with the process, so that everyone who needs a blood transfusion can receive one.
