What began as a typical Saturday morning in the coastal town of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset quickly turned into an unexpected fun spectacle when Star Wars characters invaded the High Street, leaving local residents and shoppers stunned.
Eyewitnesses report that the surprise comical appearance began inside Waterstones bookstore, where a group of stormtroopers marched in with military precision, their gleaming white armour creating a stark contrast to the quiet coffee shop setting where customers were enjoyjng their 100% organic coffees and assortment of cakes.
Darth Vader and Chewbacca were also part of the unexpected entourage.
One man was just enjoying his purchase of Jordan Peterson’s latest book – We Who Wrestle with God with his flat white when confronted by the unexpected sight. “I did not expect this and it was a gathering. I will never forget.”
The group moved from Waterstones onto the High Street, drawing crowds and smartphone cameras.
Particularly memorable was a moment outside Specsavers, where the characters posed for photographs and engaged with curious onlookers.
"It was absolutely surreal," said one man. "One moment we were strolling along the High Street, the next we were looking at characters straight out of a Star Wars film."
Local speculation ran wild about the purpose of the visit.
Some suggested it might be a film promotion, while others thought it could be a comic convention event. Organisers have not yet confirmed the exact reason for the Star Wars characters' appearance.
Regardless of the motivation, one thing is certain: Weston-super-Mare will not soon forget the Saturday when the Galactic Empire made an unexpected local appearance.
