Andrew Scott, one of Britain’s most successful entrepreneurs of the past 20 years at the Ascot Group, urged far bigger visionary mindsets in the UK to achieve ‘the impossible’.
Andrew has just visited Q-Fort HQ in Craiova, Romania, to learn more about their growth plans across France, Italy, Poland, UK, Canada and new markets.
The firm started in 1995 as a small business founded by Stefan Cherciu, and now has €130 million global revenue with much more to come.
Andrew similarly launched Ascot Group in 2004 from his kitchen table at home and has since seen meteoric expansion across the UK.
He is now helping entrepreneurs locally in the south west of England, across the rest of the UK, and internationally to expand their mindsets and vision and build superb companies.
He said: “It was inspirational to visit Q-Fort in Romania. The business is a world-leader in innovation and customer service. Everything felt like it’s only getting started and it’s great to see the next generation family have even greater vision for the future.
“It got me thinking that in the UK, we just don’t think big enough. Q-Fort was once a small business. Now its operating in 10 countries.
“That $billion tech company was once a start-up. The chain of restaurants started as one eatery. That global brand began in one country.
“We often see growth as linear; 10% or 20% a year. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Creating growth at-scale is not only possible, but easier than many entrepreneurs think; and there are multiple ways to achieve it.
Andrew added: “It does need a new mindset and new ways of working. But the rewards are extraordinary.
“I’m very fortunate to work with and advise visionary, ambitious companies and entrepreneurs who think big.”
