Winston Churchill had his own battles with mental health and would often take to painting to relax.

Now a new study show that doing creative things can boost your mood.

The new study from researchers in the UK, published in Frontiers in Public Health, suggests that creative activities boost mental health.

The study looked at over 7,000 people who answered questions about their hobbies.

Researchers found that people who did crafts or art were happier. They felt their lives were more worthwhile. This effect was even stronger than having a job.

People who did creative activities said they were more satisfied with life. This was true even when the researchers considered things like age, gender, and how much money people had.

One of our Good News Post Editors mental health charity CEO Dawn Carey said: ”This is really good news. We would urge the Government to help roll out more mental health action plans as the mental health statistics are getting worse so worse.”
