On Thursday, 7th November at 11am The King Alfred School an Academy gathered in commemoration for Remembrance Day to honour the soldiers who fought in the war.
Students, staff, prefects, and members of the Royal British Legion gathered in front of the memorial of the ‘Silent Soldier’ and members of the Royal British Legion paid their respects by laying a poppy wreath.
The ceremony began with a reading of the poem For the Fallen and The Last Post was then played, bringing everyone together in a shared moment of silence and remembrance.
To conclude the service, TKASA’s prefects shared:
"For your tomorrow, we gave our today”, a reminder of the great sacrifice many individuals made.
