The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, Somerset has launched their brand new expanded Preloved Uniform and Books Store.
The opening of the store follows the launch of their Preloved Prom Store which has proven very successful over the past 4 years. It has seen young people from all over the country come to TKASA to borrow a dress or suit.
The Preloved store now offers uniform supplies such as shirts, ties, blazers, PE kit, toiletries, revision books and study resources which have all been donated by previous students and the local community.
The items can be borrowed for free or in exchange for a donation to charity.
Steve and Jackie Richards from Burnham Portable Toilet Hire donated to the store and provided funding for its refurbishment and have therefore helped to contribute to its success.
Jackie Richards, pictured, came in to officially open the store and said that both she and Steve donate to the school as their two daughters attended TKASA and they think it is really important to give back.
Mr Milford, Principal, said “I’m really keen that we link with local businesses and the community” and that it’s “such an amazing opportunity for the school to provide support to families and children at the school."
The school is part of The Priory Learning Trust and has a thriving Sixth Form.
