Teresa Beilstein, a third-grade teacher at South Shore Elementary School in Crownsville, Maryland, USA, embarked on a project to benefit the pediatric ward of a local hospital.
She nurtured her students desire to bring happiness to children like them who were going through a difficult time, so they recorded a story to children in a local hospital.
Her inspirational work won her a Washington Post 2020 Teacher of the Year Award.
Each student selected a storybook to practice reading aloud until they were fluent. Then, they recorded the book onto a flash drive and donated the recordings and books to the hospital.
