Teenagers transform broken bikes

By Jill Dando News @ Priory

Year 10 students from Priory Community School Academy have been participating in a special Bikeability programme with local police.

Students Oscar, Kayden and William , aged 15, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset worked in the school’s Nurture Hub all day, putting their minds and hands to the test of fixing broken bikes.

Oscar explained how ‘this bike is for a student who needs one but didn’t have access to a bike before’.

He confidently talked through all the amendments they’d made to improve several bikes throughout the day.

All students were actively engaged in mending and improving bikes – from fixing tyres to replacing parts or fixing brakes.

Priory is part of The Priory Learning Trust. It has a Jill Dando News Centre where students find, write and publish good news stories to the Media and the Good News Post.
