The Year 10 choir at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, Somerset, sang a host of Christmas hits including White Christmas and Rocking around the Christmas Tree, before the lights were switched on their 14-foot tree.

Principal Nathan Jenkins said: “It was lovely to be able to mark the start of Christmas with the switching on of our Christmas lights.

“We are all determined to make the most of every single day and to continue to celebrate as normal as we can.”

The academy is part of The Priory Learning Trust and one of the fastest improving in the south west, and each year raises huge amounts for charity.
