Students at Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset have celebrated brilliant individual GCSE exam performances today.
WCSA welcomed its Year 11 class of 2023 back this morning to receive their GCSE results.
With exams regulator, Ofqual, saying that there would be a return to pre-pandemic grading, students were justifiably nervous.
However, they need not have been with many students achieving pleasing grades in the full range of subjects.
WCSA Principal, Mark Tidman, said that he was delighted to see so many students rewarded for their hard work and dedication.
He added: “Because of the pandemic it hasn't been the easiest journey through school for this group of young people, but because of their efforts and the support of their teachers and parents/carers, they have been rewarded.
“I am very proud of their successes at WCSA, not just in these GCSE's but throughout their time at the school with their wider contributions and experiences.”
Director of Secondary Education at the Priory Learning Trust, Gregg Morrison said: “Everyone in the family of TPLT schools is extremely proud of the achievements of WCSA's Year 11 students and congratulations on a great set of results.
“Well done to all of the students and their families and we wish you all the best for the future.”
