Smiles and excitement as schools return back
There were lots of smiles and excitement as schools returned back after lockdown.
The King Alfred School Academy in Somerset was one such school which today celebrated the arrival of 250 new Year 7s.
They enjoyed a host of fun welcome activities, meeting new friends and their teachers and staff.
The academy will keep the students inside a ‘bubble’ of their whole year group for both lessons and social times.
Principal Nathan Jenkins said: “It was tremendous to see so many new happy smiling faces.
“It has been a challenging few months but it was so good to get things back to a bit of normality.
“All the students will be kept in ‘bubbles’ of their particular year, not mixing with other year groups.”
TKASA has enjoyed considerable success over the past couple of years and has a thriving school-based sixth form.
