Sir Ranulph Fiennes joins Bear Grylls to launch Britain’s first state secondary school Scout Group

The new near 100-strong group is being run as part of the school day at The King Alfred School, an Academy (TKASA) in Highbridge, Somerset.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, one of the world’s greatest adventurers, joined Bear Grylls in sharing his delight at the new venture.

He said: “Well done to these incredible students and The King Alfred School, an Academy. Outdoor activities make for brilliant people, well rounded and with self-confidence to try and achieve the impossible.”

TKASA is a fast-improving academy and part of the inspirational The Priory Learning Trust.
