Scintillating Year 7 footballers make last 16 of national cup out of 639 teams.

The 11 and 12 year olds have only been at Worle Community School Academy for three months but are already impressing with quality fast flowing football.

They beat Torquay Boys’ Grammar School 3 0 in a Christmas clash to move into the last 16 of the Under 12s ESFA National Cup.

Captain, Logan Harvey will now lead the team out against Torquay Academy in January for a place in the Quarter-Finals of the National Cup.

PE teacher Junior Soper said: “The boys were phenomenal. We have a brilliant crop of students who are already showing great team spirit and playing with skill, style and determination.”

In this week’s match, Worle played fast-paced, attacking football. In the 22nd minute of the first half – Brad Dakin whipped the ball in from out wide, finding Jack Ford, who touched the ball down and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to score the first goal.

Just after half time, Jack Ford played in Jayden Stockhall who drilled the ball past the Torquay goalkeeper to make it 2-0 Worle. In the 53rd minute Jack Ford flicked the ball over the goalkeepers’ head to make it 3-0.
