By Jill Dando News

Dozens of student helpers showed record numbers of prospective pupils, parents and carers around Priory Community School Academy for their annual Open Evening in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

There was standing room only as Principal Angelos Markoutsas gave talks to all the visitors.

Then the student helpers gave tours around the award-winning school which has inspirational new facilities including the £1.4 million Arthur Spencer Science Centre.

There were fun science experiments, music and other exciting curriculum demonstrations with opportunities to talk to students and staff.

Jill Dando News reporters were on hand with a stall and demonstrations of their news reports to explain all about their journalism centre.

Visitors enjoyed the free food and hospitality available in the restaurant from the new school caterers, Aspens.

The popular academy is part of the high-achieving The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT).

Mr Markoutsas said: “We were delighted to meet so many visitors pupils, parents and carers.”
