Popular Headteacher honoured with school conference suite named after him

Students and staff honour longest serving headteacher by naming a conference suite after him

Dave Dennis saw multiple thousands of students pass through Priory Community School in Somerset from his time as headteacher in 1985 to 2000 and now the Academy has officially named a modern conference room after him.

Students, staff and headteachers past and present including Arthur Spencer, Ron Richards and Neville Coles attended a ceremony and unveiled a plaque to officially open the Dave Dennis Suite.

Students from the Jill Dando News Centre interviewed Dave and other guests.

In 2017 Arthur officially opened the £2.5 million ‘Arthur Spencer Science Centre’.

Current Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “Dave Dennis saw so many thousands of students through the school and helped the community in tremendous ways. He is a big part of our PCSA family.”

Executive Principal of The Priory Learning Trust Neville Coles said: “It was wonderful to see Dave back at the school and we were able to show him all the latest exciting developments.”
