One of south west’s fastest improving schools hosts open evening

By Jill Dando News

Prospective pupils, parents and carers enjoyed the latest annual open evening for one of the South West’s fastest improving schools.

In lovely autumnal sunshine, prospective pupils, parents and carers visited The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge, Somerset and were greeted by sensational Year 7 students singing a range of songs.

Student Tour Guides at The highflying Academy showed off their outstanding campus.

The academy also put on a range of fun activities including history re-enactments and opportunities to meet students and staff.

TKASA has had a brilliant few years with a raft of good news, £1.2 million of site improvements, excellent GCSE and A Level results, and a thriving Sixth Form.

It is part of The Priory Learning Trust.

Acting Principal Dan Milford said: “There was a tremendous atmosphere again around the academy for the open evening.

“These are very exciting days for the academy and for the whole community. It was a real privilege to meet so many children and their parents and carers.”
