One of Britain’s youngest Heads takes reins of fantastic school

Christopher Taylor has become Headteacher of Barton Hill Academy in Torquay.

He is passionate about giving all 650 pupils opportunities to fulfill the school values – ‘Be Unusually Brave’, ‘Push the Limits’, ‘Discover what’s possible’ and ‘Be Big Hearted’.

He was only 27 when be became a Headteacher in Kent, helping it to improve in a range of areas, and will bring a wealth of fresh ideas and the latest techniques to help make BHA even better.

Christopher, who is married with a two-year-old daughter, said: “It is a privilege to lead such an incredible learning centered team to enable all our pupils to have the confidence, skills and attitude to live a ‘Remarkable Life’.

“We want to celebrate the success of every single one of our brilliant pupils and help launch them to amazing future careers and lives.”

Barton Hill Academy is punching well above their weight in national comparisons of data on achievement and progress. They are in the top 4 per cent of progress in reading, writing and maths for similar areas in Britain, and the top 7 per cent generally for value added progress.
