One of Britain’s most picturesque schools has a new Head of School after two years of good news and a glowing HMI visit.

Emma Barker is the new head of Pawlett Primary School Academy (PPSA) which is led by the expanding The Priory Learning Trust.

Pawlett currently has 59 pupils, is over 200 years old and is situated in green surroundings with sports pitches, a forest school, adventure playground, and next door to a state-of-the-art community club with a 3G football pitch that can be used by the children of the school.

Emma has joined PPSA from St Anne’s Church Academy, also part of TPLT, where she taught in various different year groups.

HMI recently praised the school’s leadership, quality of teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare, and its work towards pupil outcomes.

Emma said: “This is a wonderful school and I am so excited to be part of this fantastic new era. Pawlett has huge potential and we intend to make it one of the best primary schools in the south west.”
