Olivia lines up scientist or engineer career after brilliant year in her swimming

Worle Community School Year 10 student Olivia Finch, aged 15, has had a fantastic year in her swimming career after completing in the South West Regional Championships.

She has been competing in the Somerset County Championships since she was nine and has won medals in her past two years of competing.

She swims up to six days a week and is also in the school’s hockey team and competes in athletic events for the school.

Olivia, who is the lead student in the Jill Dando News Centre, also plans to be a scientist after realising the effect of muscles, fitness and exercise on the human body.

Principal Jacqui Scott said: “Olivia is a brilliant example of a student who is putting everything into her school life and is reaping the rewards. She is an enthusiastic and talented student and we will encourage her in her dreams all we can.”
