Exclusive, by Oliver, 12 and Jake, 12, Jill Dando News
An MP at the centre of news headlines will give an exclusive interview to Jill Dando News on Thursday – thanks to 12 year old reporter Oliver.
Oliver, 12, of Worle Community School Academy in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset secured the interview with MP John Penrose over the past few weeks.
Mr Penrose then resigned today as the Government’s anti-corruption tsar, thrusting him to the centre of news headlines.
The Conservative MP will now be interviewed by enthusiastic people reporters aged 9 to 18 this Thursday at Jill Dando News.
Mr Penrose is the MP for Weston-super-Mare, which is where Jill Dando news began five years ago. Jill was raised in the town before becoming Britain’s best BBC TV journalist.
John said: ”When we arranged this interview, neither Oliver nor I knew that there would be a Vote of Confidence in the Prime Minister just before I was due to talk to the Jill Dando News team. “But timing is everything in politics as well as journalism, so I’m looking forward to it immensely!”
Jill Dando News aims to inspire children and young people to find, write and publish positive good news stories right across the world.
