Meet the Cat with the Longest Tail!

WORLD RECORDS (GWR), celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2025, is pleased to announce that Mr. Pugsley Addams, a silver Maine Coon from Minnesota, USA has a tail measuring 18.5 in (46.99 cm), making it the longest tail on a domestic cat living!
Two-year-old Pugsley, named after the iconic Addams Family character, has always had a long tail. His owner, Amanda Cameron, recalls it being mentioned at
his very first vet visit.
Amanda admits she didn’t think much of it, until it became the focus of his next appointment six months later.
After telling her kids, Finley and Josephine, Amanda shared their immediate response was to research the current GWR title holder, “and what do you know
– to our shock, Pugsley beat it!”
Pugsley is certainly not a one trick pony! He can sit on command and is quite skilled when it comes to the game of fetch – specifically in the evening before bed.
Known in the family as a curious, adventure seeker, Pugsley has also earned a reputation for troublemaking.
Amanda says he is, “very creative when it comes to new ways he can be mischievous. And yet, he is kind and caring and loves his momma.”
His love is not limited to humans. Pugsley has two sisters, Winnie and Dutchess, and a brother, aptly named after the beloved Addams Family patriarch, Gomez who, according to Amanda, wants nothing more than to cuddle; he’s “violently affectionate and romantic.”
The family is convinced Pugsley is aware of his unique tail because of its expressiveness and the fact that it’s always getting in the way.
A local celebrity, the family shares that aside from his purr-fect tail
it is impossible not to love for his calm demeanor and level-head, “he’s just a great little guy to be around.”
After celebrating his record title with lots of kisses and his favorite shoulder massages, the family is already dreaming of more potential titles for this accomplished feline, planning to keep an eye on him as he continues to grow!
