Maths, music and mindfulness launched in explosion of after-school clubs

Maths, Music, and Mindfulness – an ambitious academy is building ’rounded’ students with dozens of off-curriculum ‘Period 6’ activities.

Worle Community School Academy, part of the high-achieving The Priory Learning Trust in Somerset, has rolled out dozens of exciting Period 6 clubs including in the Arts, Media, Music and Sport before and after the school day.

The popular Academy has launched clubs including Ukulele Orchestra, Business Studies, Drama, Creative Writing, STEM, Jill Dando Journalism, Badminton, Art and dozens of others.

Open Evening on Wednesday 22nd September 4pm till 7pm

The academy is now welcoming Year 5 and 6 pupils, parents and carers across the town to sample its fantastic atmosphere and view its excellent campus on Wednesday 22nd September – with talks by Principal Jacqui Scott at 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

Miss Scott said: “We are passionate about creating enthusiastic and rounded students who perform academically and in a range of extracurricular subjects.

“In our Period 6 groups we have something for every student. There is huge excitement about the new term and future.”

Since becoming part of TPLT in 2016, the academy has seen huge campus improvements including a £400,000 refurbished auditorium and sports hall.

The WCSA motto is ‘We Challenge and Support to Achieve’, resulting in students who thrive in all areas.
