Lucky 20 students head to Spain in languages boost

The students from Priory Community School Academy in Somerset have embarked on an international exchange to Baza in Granada this week which will boost their learning in Spanish.

They will stay with local families and learn about their culture, enabling them to build relationships and speak Spanish throughout the trip.

Student Meena Loewy, 14, Year 10, said: “I’m really excited to go to Spain and to experience a new culture.”

Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “This really will bring their learning to life. Priory are eager to give excellent opportunities across all our subjects and this trip will be life changing for many and open their eyes to opportunities across the world.”

A £2.5 million Department for Education programme in partnership with the British Council has helped to fund the amazing opportunity.
