Medical Defibrillator Installed As Life-Saving Mission Continues
By Jill Dando News
Another life-saving defibrillator has been installed as the mission to save lives continues.
The defibrillator has been installed within Weston-super-Mare in Somerset at the Locking Parklands Medical Centre, by Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare Project.
It was given support by their electricians, Kimera Facilities Management UK Ltd.
The funding was provided by Tom Farrand, who was previously part of the Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare Project, where back in April he undertook the TCS London Marathon and successfully raised £2,097 for more publicly accessible defibrillators within W-s-M.
The Defibrillator has been installed and is now rescue-ready and registered via The Circuit (Defibrillator National Network) to enable a difference to be made within our local community, https://www.defibfinder.uk/
Further funds of £392.00 have been donated to Specsavers, in Weston-super-Mare High Street, who are also currently fundraising for a defibrillator within their local establishment.
Tom said “It brings me great joy and overwhelming sense of achievement to be able to give back to my local community and increase the number of Defibrillators within our town. This enhances the chain of survival as early CPR and defibrillation can truly make a difference to someone’s survival chances.
The London Marathon was truly an amazing experience, one that I will cherish for a lifetime, and without everyone’s support, it would not have been possible!
I want to thank everyone in our community, my friends and family for donating.
Together we can continue to make a difference and save lives along the way.”
Josh, Project Lead for Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare Project, said "It's great to see that another defibrillator has been installed, and we thank Tom and the local community for all their efforts in providing this life-saving defibrillator. We are installing more and more defibrillators with the great support of our local community and we couldn't do this without everyone's input and generosity".
